Overview

This combined package covers touring and trekking to the most visited and superlative regions of the Himalayan countries – Nepal & Bhutan.

In Bhutan, we will be visiting several landmarks, rich cultural heritage sites and hike to the Bhutan valley. In Nepal, we will be trekking to the easiest region of Annapurna i.e. at Ghorepani poon Hill station, where we get spectacular magnificent views of the entire Annapurna range and other snow-capped peaks.

We will be also touring Pokhara city and Kathmandu. At Kathmandu, we will roam around Thamel - a hotspot for foreigners and the best place to find ancient artifacts, local handicrafts, delicious food, live music, etc. The next day, we take a scenic airstrip to Pokhara where you get to spot Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, the Annapurna ranges, and several other snowcapped peaks from the air.

After reaching Pokhara, we drive to Nayapul. Our trekking begins crossing through the subtropical forests, crossing Modi River through a suspension bridge. The next day, we head to Ghorepani village, from where we get the views of Annapurna South, Nilgiri, and other several mountains. Next day, we head to the most popular destination of the Annapurna region. We head up early to get the picturesque sunrise view of the surrounding peaks. Next day, we head to Tadapani, and then to Ghandruk and drive to Pokhara. The following day, we will be sightseeing Pokhara and head early to Sarangkot to get the grandeur view of the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri ranges. We then visit some interesting spots and fly back to Kathmandu.

Next, we fly to Paro and sightsee some of the popular sites. The next day, we hike to Takshang Monastery. Next day, we drive to the Wangditse Gompa. The following day, we drive to Dochu La pass and after that, we will be hiking to the Lungchutse monastery. From here, we retrace back to the Dochu La pass and then visit the Khamsum Namgyal chorten. We will also be exploring the Punakha Dzong and next day, we end our tour and depart back to our specific destination.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport at Kathmandu our Accent Himalaya team will welcome us and then they will drop us at the hotel. Then checking in into the hotel you can take rest of freshen up or you can even visit the Accent Himalaya office. Then we will be wandering the Thamel market which is the best touristic spot where you will find many tourist roaming around this Thamel area as there are lots of souvenir shops and even there are lots of antique shops where you can do some shopping and for the bargaining our guide will be helping you for that. In the evening the team of the Accent Himalaya Company will be giving a welcome dinner in the fine Nepali restaurants which serve you the authentic Nepali cuisine.

Day 02: Fly to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft), drive to Nayapul and trek to Ulleri (2,050 m/6725 ft.): 30 min flight and 6 hours trek

Early morning we take a flight to Pokhara where we will be capturing the panoramic view of the Himalayas makes sure to catch the right-hand seat to capture the scenic view of the Himalayas. As we arrive at Pokhara we will be rewarded with the beautiful lake city including with the remarkable view of the Machapuchre, Dhaulagiri and the range of Annapurna. Then we will drive to Nayapul and began our trek where we will be passing through the sub-tropical forests and then we will have our lunch and after that we will be crossing the Modi River through suspension bridge and then we will reach Tikhedunga village. Then we will head to the Ulleri with more than thousands of boulders and steps and in the afternoon we will reach Ulleri. We will be spending our night at Ulleri.

Day 03: Ulleri to Ghorepani (2,750 m/ 9,020 ft.): 4 - 5 hours trek

Today after the breakfast we will be ascending to the Ghorepani village as in Nepali it means the horse water as gore means horse and pani as water it is the wonderful area where there are few shops and the local stall where the local people sells their local made products and then we will be heading to the high valley to the Ghorepani village where we will get the stunning view of the Himalayas as well as the Annapurna and the Nilgiri peaks. In the evening it will be bit cold as we reached quite higher altitude than the previous one.

Day 04: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani (2,700m/8,860ft): 6 - 7 hours

Early morning we will be heading to the Poon hill station which is at 3210 meters to capture the scenic view of the Himalayas with the sunrise view which is also the most well-known and most visited trekking in Annapurna region.  As from here you will get to capture different peaks of the Annapurna region including with that you will get the close view of the Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna range. After spending some time at the Poon hill and capturing the best pictures of the peaks and then we will retrace back to Ghorepani then we will have breakfast and then head to the east side and ascend close to the ridge and then we will descend down via rhododendron forests passing the cascading waterfall and then we will reach Tadapani. We will be spending our night at Tadaopani.

Day 05: Tadapani to Ghandruk, then drive to Pokhara (1940m/6360 ft): 6 - 7 hours trek, 2 hours’ drive

Today we will be trekking to Ghandruk from Tadapani where we will be trekking via dense rhododendron forests. After a few hours of trekking we will reach the Ghadruk village and in this village the most inhabitants are Gurung people where you will get to explore their culture and their way of living. We will be enjoying some of the snowcapped peaks from this village which are Annapurna south, Machapuchre- fishtail and the Hiunchuli. After that we will drive to Pokhara. We will be spending our night at Pokhara.

Day 06: Early Morning Sightseeing in Pokhara, fly to Kathmandu

We will wake up early morning and head to the Sarangkot where we will get to view the Annapurna and the Dhaulagiri ranges with the sunrise view and even you will get to view the Pokhara city. After that we will retrace back to Pokhara city and there we will be visiting some of the landmarks of Pokhara which are Davis fall, lord Shiva temple and we will explore the Phewa lake- one of the tranquil lakes where we will be doing boating and then at the center of this lake there is a Hindu temple named Bindyabasini where we will be visiting the temple. In the afternoon we take a scenic flight to Kathmandu and then we will head to the hotel and take rest or freshen up or you can also do shopping.

Day 07: Fly to Paro (2,250m/7,382ft), city sightseeing

As during our flight to Bhutan we will enjoy the view of the Himalayas including with the sacred peaks of Bhutan named Jomolhari and the Jichu Drake. Then landing at the airport our representative team will greet us and take us to the respective hotel. After having our lunch we will be visiting the Ringpung Dzong, kichu Lhakhang, Drugyal Dzong. If the weather is clear then we will get to witness the second highest mountain of Bhutan named Chomolhari which is at 7314 meters. We will be spending our night at Paro.

Day 08: Paro to Thimphu (2,320m/7,610ft): 54 km, 1 hour, hike to Taktsang Monastery

Today early morning we will have our breakfast and hike to the well-known monasteries of Bhutan named a Taktsang monastery which is also called as Tiger nest monasteries which are located on the high cliff at 3180 meters. It has a myth that the spiritual Guru Rimpoche had flown on the tiger back and head into the cave and meditates into this cave for a long period which now this cave stands as the Taktsang monasteries. We will be having our lunch at the cafeteria restaurant which is situated at the midway up to the mountain. After finishing exploring the monasteries we will retrace back down to the valley and then we will drive to Thimpu. We will be spending our night at Thimpu.

Day 09: Hike to WangditseGompa followed by sightseeing in Thimphu

Today in the morning we will drive to BBS tower and at least hike for 1hourt to reach Wangditse Gompa and on the trail we will get to view the Tashicho Dzong as well we will also get the stunning view of the Sampling palace which was earlier the abode of the 4th king. After exploring the GOmpan we will retrace back to Thimpu as on the way we will be visiting the mini zoo where you will get to observe different wildlife animals including with the Bhutan national animal named Takin. Then we will have the lunch and then start touring where we will be visiting the memorial Chorten, nunnery temple, library, traditional medicinal center, museum, paper factory and the Tashicho Dzong. In the evening time we will be wandering the Thimpu Street markets and explores the local people and their lifestyles. We will be spending our night at Thimpu.

Day 10: Thimphu to Punakha (1,250m/4,100ft): 76 km, 2 - 3 hours’ drive: Hike to Lungchutse Monastery

After having our breakfast our driver will drive us to Dochu la pass which is at 3100 meters if the weather is clear we will get the spectacular view of the Himalayas. We will be hiking for 2 hours to reach Lungchutse we will be passing via rhododendron forests. Continuing hiking we will be passing vibrant Buddhist prayer flags including with the magnificence view of the Himalayas.  After that we will retrace back to Dochu La pass. Then we will have a lunch and then drive downhill via the fir, rhododendron and hemlock forests. We will stop at Metshina village and at least we will be walking via rice fields and here we will be visiting the Chimi Lhakhang. We will be spending our night at Punakha.

Day 11: Punakha to Paro: 130 km, 4 hours’ drive: Hike to KhamsumYulleyNamgyalChorten

At the early morning sunrise we will be driving to the Punakha and then we will be trekking for 2 hours to reach Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten which is situated at the stunning hill called Ngezergang and after exploring the Chorten we will be hiking to Punakha and reaching Punakha we will be visiting the Punakha Dzong after that we will drive to Paro. We will be spending our night at Paro.

Day 12: Final departure

Today the Nepal Annapurna trek and Bhutan tour with day hikes comes to an end and our Accent Himalaya team will be dropping you at the airport three hours earlier than your flight schedule.
