Photography tour is for those passionate people who want to capture the best moments while traveling to this Himalayan kingdom. This tour rewards you to capture the best mountainous views, ancient monasteries, Buddhism culture & traditions, agricultural lands, incredible landscapes, various Dzongs, charming people, and diverse flora and fauna found on your trails.

We suggest touring Bhutan during the grandest festivals so that you get to capture the beautiful colorful mask dance and many spiritual rituals performed during these festivals. If you want to join this photography tour with the festival, we can surely arrange this as per the festival's schedule.

This photography tour begins with a scenic flight where you get to click the Himalayan peaks like Mount Chomolhari from the air. As reaching Paro, we wander around the city and explore and capture the local people and their traditional dress, ornaments, etc. The next day, we will be heading to the most visited and popular site – the Taktsang monastery. Here we spend more time until sunset and take best pictures including the monastery which is located on the high cliff.

The next day, we head to Thimpu, where on the way - we first take pics of the splendid Ringpung Dzong. As we reach Thimpu, we will explore the memorial Chorten, Tashi Dzong and head to Buddha statue which is at Khunselphodrang. From this place, we get to capture the entire view of Thimpu valley. Next day, we drive to Punakha, where on the trails - you get to capture the beautiful terraced fields, dense forests and after that, we will be hiking through the rice paddies to reach Chimilhankhang.

Further hiking, we reach Punakha Dzong. And next day, we retrace back to Paro. On the way, we stop to visit Drukwangyal monastery. The next day, we will be visiting the Taktsang monastery for the second time. This time we head early in the morning to capture the best scenery with clear views of the landscapes.

Day 01: Arrival and sightseeing in Paro (2,250m/7,382ft)

During your flight near Bhutan you will get the picturesque view of the Himalayas including with Bhutan sacred peaks Chomolhari and the Jichu Drake. As you land at the airport our representative from the Accent Himalaya will greet you and take you to the respective hotel. Then afterward we will be wandering the appealing streets of Paro where you will get to know the local people and their lifestyles. We will spend our night in Paro.

Day 02: Hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,180 m/10,433ft), back to Paro: 4-5 hours

Today we will be hiking to the most cherished landmark of Bhutan which is Taktsang monastery also recognized as Tiger nest monastery. It is situated above the Paro valley at the precarious cliff at 3120 meters. It is said that the spiritual Tibetan master Guru Rimpoche had meditated in this cave which now stands as Taktsang monastery. We will be exploring the monastery for longer hours y clicking beautiful picture as if you want we will even spend our day till evening where you can enjoy the sunset view. We will spend our night in Paro.

Day 03: Paro to Thimphu (2,320m/7,610ft): 54 km, 1 hour

Today we will begin our actual photography tour where you will first exploring the Ringpung Dzong and here we also get to learn about the Dzong history. Ringpung Dzong is one of the striking dzongs with superior wall painting that exemplifies Buddhists teachings. After that we will begin our drive to Thimpu and reaching at Thimpu we will be touring the memorial Chorten which was constructed to the memory of the late third king. Then we will be visiting the Tashi Dzong and the large Buddha statue which is at Kuenselphodrang. The huge Buddha statue offers the complete view of the Thimpu valley where you can take great pictures. We will spend our night in Thimpu.

Day 04: Thimphu to Punakha (1,250m/4,100 ft.): 76 km, 2 - 3 hours

After having the breakfast we will enjoy our drive to Punakha and then we will stop for awhile in Dochu La Pass which is at 3150 meters and from here one get the spectacular view of Himalayas. We will be continuing our drive to downhill via fir, hemlock and rhododendron forests. After that we will be hiking through the rice paddies to visit the ancient temple known Chimi Lhangkhang temple. After exploring the temple and taking expected pictures we will then continue our drive to Punakha. After that we will have our lunch and then we will visit the Punakha Dzong which is situated in a mid of two rivers. We will spend our night in Punakha.

Day 05: Punakha to Paro: 130 km, 4 hours

Today we will return back to Paro and on the way we will be visiting the Druk wangyal Lhakhang. In this lhangkhang- temple there is an exclusive painting describing the history and the present kingdom and their works. Before continuing our drive to Paro we will stop for a lunch in Thimpu. We will spend our night in Paro.

Day 06: Tiger’s Nest Monastery

Once again we will be exploring the famous monastery called Taktsang monastery and this time we will be hiking early morning to capture the beautiful scenery and we will spend our day exploring this monastery and taking plenty of pictures.  In this monastery you will feel very relaxed and peaceful where you can enjoy the views peacefully. We will spend our night in paro.

Day 07: Final departure

Today you photography tour finally comes to an end. After the breakfast our representative will drop you at the airport three hours earlier than your flight schedule.
