Highlights of Nepal

Overview

 

This tour covers the chief Highlights of Nepal. We will be sightseeing few heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley, Nagarkot, Pokhara, and Chitwan. At this 10 days tour, we will escort you to the ancient monasteries, palaces, and temples of which some are 2500 years old brilliantly built with ancient arts and architecture.

We will also be heading to the bank of Trishuli stream to Chitwan district and then to Chitwan National Park and subsequently drive to Pokhara, where you will be experiencing a small hike to Sarangkot. From Sarangkot, you get the marvelous view of Mount Annapurna and other numerous peaks from the top. We will even visit some of the best spots of Pokhara and also be savoring boating in the Fewa Lake.

The highlights tour to Nepal begins from Kathmandu where we will be exploring some of the ancient heritage sites. We will also be heading to the Nagarkot to view the dawn and twilight. The following day we will drive to Chitwan to visit the Chitwan National Park (you can spot the Bengal tiger if lucky!). We will ride at the elephant back and go through the jungle to discover one-horned rhino, Bengal tigers, birds and several other animals. We will also be visiting the Tharu village communities to explore their culture and traditions. People of these communities are more a-like people living in India.

The following day, we will drive to Pokhara and hike to Sarangkot where one gets to see the striking view of the Annapurna, Manaslu and the Dhaulagiri as well as Fewa Lake. Pokhara city can be seen very incredible from the top of the Sarangkot. It is also one of the best spots to do adventuresome activities like paragliding, bungee jumping etc. and next we will be sightseeing some of the hotspots of Pokhara. Next, we will drive to Kathmandu and then to Nagarkot and view the sunset and next morning we will be viewing the beautiful sunrise. Finally, we will conclude our tour by sightseeing Patan and Bhaktapur.

The most wonderful time to visit Nepal and tour around the realm will be best during spring (March-May) and fall (September-December). If you are well accustomed to winter and like to avoid big masses while touring, you can also visit in winter. Detail Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

As you arrive at Kathmandu, Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will pick up you and drive you to your respective hotel. Then you will get freshen up and we visit the office of Accent Himalaya. You will be invited to a welcome dinner in the evening hosted by Accent Himalaya with delicious and typical Nepalese cuisine which introduces you to taste and culture of Nepal.

Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu

After having our breakfast, we will be ready for sightseeing Kathmandu valley. We will visit some UNESCO world heritage sites in Kathmandu. We will visit:

Pashupati Chhetra: - Hindus most religious/pilgrimage temple of Lord Shiva where millions of pilgrim visited every year. The special days of lots of crowd in the temple are Mahashivaratri, Hindus festival Teej, and every Monday. 

Swayambhunath: - Religious and pilgrimage place for both Hindu and Buddhist. Peoples visit the temple for peace in the world. 

Boudhanath: - Worlds’ largest Stupa; Boudhanath was completely destroyed in the earthquake of April 2015 and now it is completely reconstituted and reconstructed. Now it is a major attraction site for visitors in Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Durbar square: - It catches the wonderful history of Kathmandu and its kingdom and leaders of the valley. Kathmandu Durbar square is full of history and arts of the Newari communities. The wonderful architecture and the arts are so impressive. The sculpture in the area was crafted without using any modern equipment in wood and stone which is pretty impressive.

Day 03: Drive to Chitwan (815 m/2,674 ft): 175km, 4-5 hours

Early in the morning after having our breakfast, we drive to Chitwan located 175 kilometers from Kathmandu. We drive descent along the winding road on the banks of the Trishuli River with amazing views of mountains, green landscape, and farm fields. After checking into the hotel, we will describe our tour to Chitwan and on the activities, we will be engaged in during our stay. Then we walk on the Rapti River banks to enjoy the sunset in the sub-tropical jungles of Chitwan. In the evening, we enjoy dinner along with a brief cultural program showcasing the tribal dances typical of the Chitwan region of Nepal.

Day 04: Chitwan National Park

Chitwan National Park is also one of the World Heritage sites enlisted in UNESCO, where One Horn Rhinos are specially conserved and also famous for the conservation of Striped Tiger and many others endangered animals and birds. Today we have an elephant back ride safari in the Jungle of Chitwan National Park. We have a ride over the dense grassland, over rivers and stream and dark forest witnessing the wildlife in their natural inhabitant. After breakfast, we visit the elephant stables and even enjoy the elephant bathing. In the noon, we can either drive through the jungles followed by a canoe ride down to the Rapti River, where we may have closer look at the Gharial and Mugger Crocodiles along with Fresh Water Dolphins, Otters, and varieties of water birds. Or we may even go for Bird Visiting or Nature Walks and come closer to the variety of the flora and fauna of the surrounding area.

Day 05: Drive to Pokhara (823m/2,700ft): 134km, 4-5 hours

Around 6:00 am, we have to grab our breakfast and drive to Pokhara, also known as the City of Lake owing large numbers of Lakes in the valley. At first, our Road passes through the dark subtropical jungles and fertile vegetation of Chitwan. As we leave Chitwan, we can point the changes in the terrain and the landscape, we can see the hills, small settlements, and terraced farms. Upon arriving in Pokhara valley, we are offered with magnificent views of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri (8167 m), Five peaks of Annapurna range, Manaslu (8156 m), Fishtail (6993 m) and many other high peaks of the surrounding Himalayan ranges. After resting in the hotel, we stroll in the street of Pokhara - one of the most beautiful town of Nepal with amazing Lakeside views esp. in the evening.

Day 06: Hike to Sarangkot (1600m/5249ft), sunset views: 15km, 3-4 hours hike

Early in the morning, we leave the hotel for Sarangkot - a Hill Station that overlooks the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges in the north and Pokhara city in the south, also from where we catch amazing scene of the sunrise rising over the mighty Himalayas. We start to hike from Naudanda and get to Sarangkot, where we stay in teahouses. We enjoy the amazing views of the sunsets in the mighty Himalayas and also get the views of the Pokhara city below and abundant Phewa Lake.

Day 07: Sunrise, sightseeing in Pokhar

We soak in the sunrise from Sarangkot before returning back to Pokhara and explore the surrounding. We drive back to Pokhara and continue to explore the valley and the landmarks. Davis Fall, a unique waterfall that directly flows into a narrow and deep canal which has no ends. The Shiva Cave is located near Davis Fall and houses a shrine dedicated to Lord Shiva, Primary God. 

Then we return to Phewa Lake for boating and visiting the Tal Barahi Temple in the middle of the Lake. After these entertainments, we visit the famous International Mountain Museum (IMM), recording, documenting and chronicling the past and present developments of mountaineering activities in the world and the Himalayas in the particular. Then we also tour the Tibetan Refugee Camp and witness how they keep themselves busy by producing and trading woolen products and other handicrafts.

Day 08: Drive to Kathmandu, sunset views from Nagarkot (2195m/7201ft), 230km, 6-7 hours

Early in the morning, we take our breakfast and say goodbye to the beautiful skyline of Pokhara and drive towards the Kathmandu valley, driving along river banks with wonderful views of hills and rural Nepalese lifestyle. Then we will drive for Nagarkot, Hill station famous for the amazing views of sunrise and set. We reach Nagarkot and admire the wandering views of the sunset from the top.

Day 09: Sunrise from Nagarkot, sightseeing in Patan and Bhaktapu

Early in the morning, we catch the views of spectacular scenes of Sunrise up the mighty Himalayas. After having our breakfast, we start to explore the Kathmandu valley, we visit the world heritage site of Kathmandu valley viz. Bhaktapur Durbar Square and Patan Durbar square. We visit the area of Bhaktapur, an irresistible city with an authentic local living style preserved over the centuries of isolation from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. In the Square, we get to admire the Golden Gate, Nyota-Pola temple, water Spouts and 55 windows palace which merge together to provide an ambiance of a magical outdoor theater to its visitors. We also immerse ourselves in the authentic and typical delicacy of the locals in Bhaktapur before visiting Patan Durbar Square. Patan Durbar Square is prosperous for its ancient arts and architectures. In the evening we will celebrate the success party of the trip and also enjoy the farewell dinner.

Day 10: Final departure

Today we are finally going to separate with the most wandering and unforgettable memories and witness Nepal Exploration. Our representative will drop you at the Tribhuwan International Airport before 3 hours to your flight.
