Tibet Lhakpa Ri Expedition

Overview

Many voyagers nowadays are attracted to summit from the Tibet side as the Lakpa Ri is achievable at the height of 7000 meters located on the opposite side of the north face of Everest. It is also popular as one gets the closest view of the highest mountain Everest. This peak was first scaled by George Mallory and the team in 1921. The name of this mountain means “stormy mountain” and is easy as compared to the Everest.

The top view from Lhakpa Ri offers you sights of the world finest well-known mountains as well as the unknown. The peak is surrounded by the Nyono Ri range on the eastern side, Chomolonzo on the northern side, northern face of Makalu and Pethangatse, Shartse peak and the terrifying Kangshung face mountain, Everest and the splendid east face of Lhotse. Around is an unparalleled sight of the northeast ridge of Everest, the Northern Pass, Changtse, Cho Oyu and Shispangma. Including, you also get an opportunity to grip the hugeness of the Tibetan plateau as you get to perceive hundreds of mile across the outermost landscapes.

Our expedition begins from Kathmandu, where we will get some training for climbing Lakpa Ri using the proper climbing equipment. Then we drive to the Everest Base Camp to the north through striking Tibetan towns, cities and some villages. As reaching the base camp, we are all set for our adventure ascending Lhakpa Ri. We climb alongside the east of Rongbuk glacier - divided into three phases to the Everest ABC (Advanced Base Camp) to North, with transitional camp in between.

Our first trek, alongside the plane glacial land, rapidly leads to the sharp steep northern ridge. At anytime essential, our site will be safeguarded with secure climbing ropes. Subsequently summiting Lhakpa Ri, we lead down to Rongbuk and retrace back and then drive to Kathmandu for the departure. This 23 days expedition is short duration compared with other expedition from Tibet. It has been carefully designed by our climbing experts and the perfect time to this expedition is in spring and autumn. If you are well adapted to colder weather, you can attempt this in winter but the weather will be extremely cold.
